Ibm Rational Application Developer – V7.1 Package Debug 7.1.1.5. This fix pack is provided as an update and is installed using IBM Installation Manager. Updates are usually installed from an IBM update server; you can also download the archive file that contains the update and then use IBM Installation Manager to install it locally. The following sections describe how to install this update.

If you have disabled any product features by editing the product.xml file or through the Update Manager, click Help > Software Update > Manage Configuration in the Workspace, you must enable them before installing this update.

Follow the steps below to install the update. You must perform the installation using the same Windows account that originally installed IBM Rational Developer for product z. The account must have administrator privileges.

Ideally, this update should be installed directly from the IBM update server, as described in the Workstation installation instructions section above. However, it is possible to perform a local installation by downloading the update archive file. You may want to:

You can install product updates, such as interim fixes and patch packages, so you don’t have to track or enter information during installation. For more information about installing product updates from the command line, see Working with silent installations using IBM Installation Manager.

You can verify that the update has been installed using View installed packages under Start > All Programs > IBM Installation Manager > View installed packages. You should see IBM Rational Builder for System Z V 7.1.1.5 (7.1.1.20110408_1927).

Depending on your current installation manager preferences and installation history, you may be able to remove the driver for the z 7.1.1.5 system update and revert to the previously installed version. To roll back your installation:

I have a working application built in Eclipse 8. I have to copy the code (.java, jsp and all related files) to Eclipse workspace and create a new project in IBM Application Developer.

That’s what I did. But I get an error when building the IBM RAD project. It gives me errors for using generics and annotations. Then I checked the JDK version and saw that it is already 6. Therefore, the project must be concentrated. But it is not.

After further investigation, I found that the compiler compile level was set to 1.4. It should be 1.5 or higher as shown in the attached screenshot (I think that might be the reason, but I’m not sure).

I want to change to 1.5 or higher, but the drop is not 1.5 or higher. I also followed the steps shown in this url (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wvraix/v6r1m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.wvraix.javadev.doc/registeringjre.html) but all is in vain.

Yes, I configured the correct JDK both times…jdk1.5 and also jdk1.6…but when I lower the compatibility level, I can only see jdk1.3 and jdk1.4 as shown in the screenshot. . .

What version of RAD? RAD is Eclipse Plus and a group of tools – I’ve been targeting older RAD versions up to 1.6. Using the IBM Workload Deployer Plugin provided with RAD, you can deploy a virtual application model web application directly in the RAD environment. Here I will explain the steps to install this plugin.

NB: These steps are explained for RAD 8.0 and Workload Deployer plugin 1.1.1, installation and configuration may be slightly different for other versions.

– Add an application: You can configure the plugin to install a given application.

– Publish an application: If you change the code and want to publish a new application on a running model, just click once and it’s done.

1) First you need to launch ‘IBM Installation Manager’ and select ‘edit’ and then select package group name.

4) Select ‘Workloader’ from the ‘IBM’ folder and enter the IP address of the workloader. If you are using SCAS, this is the IP address of your SCAWS service.

6) We need to define the target group for deployment. So, click on “Select” next to “Group” field and select the preferred group. Here’s the SCE group when I was working with SCAS.

10) Right click on the ‘Workloader’ button and select ‘Apply’. Click the ‘Search’ button and select the virtual application template you want to use for the application.

By double-clicking on the generated ‘Taskloader’ entry, you open its configuration, and depending on your location and the data center hosting the service, the ‘timeout’ parameter can be increased.

2) Right click on the application and select ‘start’ (you may have to do ‘print’ from the job loading line first to launch ‘start’).

After testing, you can stop the app, which has the effect of deleting the model you’re running on.
